1962 Chevrolet Belair Bubble Top

This car has gone through a full & complete rotisserie, body off frame restoration around 22 years ago. It still looks, runs and drives like it did when the car was finished. The car has been shown and judged at the Late Great Chevy's Western States convention in Long Beach, CA, and won its class scoring 998 points out of 1000. The car is a factory black car with red cloth interior, powered by a numbers matching 409-409 hp Chevy 2x4 bbl engine, built by Dale himself, backed up with a four speed trans and posi rear end. This car's story and long term ownership is a very rare thing today in the muscle car era. This car was bought in 1981 and kept until his untimely death in November 2014, by one of the greatest innovators, drivers and crew chiefs in NHRA drag racing history, my dear friend the late great Dale Armstrong, also known as simply AA-Dale. Dale did as much for the professional sport of drag racing as most anybody, including being a driver and a multi-time National Event winner and world champion! Then he began a career with the "Bud King", Kenny Bernstein and they won 4 funny car championships consecutively (1985-1988) and a top fuel title in 1996. One of the biggest and greatest achievements was in March 1992 when Dale tuned the Budweiser King TF dragster with Kenny Bernstein driving to the first pass in NHRA drag racing history to a speed of over 300 mph exactly 301.70 mph, and to be named "The King of Speed". Dale was one of the best drag racers of all time and also, one of the best car collectors. He enjoyed buying and selling, working on and restoring them over the past 38 or so years years. This car was purchased in October of 2016 by Joe Cheeks, DBA Automania from Dale's widow Susie Arnold, who kept it along with a couple of Dale's cars to put them in a caring homes like they had been in for so many years with Dale. This car was the second collector car he bought to keep and the next to last one Susie sold making the perfect ending to Dale's collector car hobby. The car has been in 4 major car magazines and even the coffee table book entitled Muscle - America's Legendary Performance Cars, with many pictures, of his 20 plus car collection, interviews and even a picture of Dale driving this truly, great, early Chevy muscle car. This car is believed to be one of the best 1962 Bubbletop Chevy's in the country!
